Biotech Website Design
Case Study
LogicBio Therapeutics/ Alexion
LogicBio approached Boston Web Partners to create a dynamic, parallax clinical trial website and Google paid search campaign to attract eligible subjects for its new methylmalonic acidemia (MMA), rare disease clinical trial gene therapy. The site design engagement went so well, LogicBio asked Boston Web Partners to redesign their corporate website as well.
*LogicBio was acquired by AstraZeneca/ Alexion in Nov. 2022

The Challenge
LogicBio Therapeutics is committed to delivering genetic medicine to pediatric patients with rare diseases. Methylmalonic Acidemia, also known as (MMA) occurs mainly in young children due to a faulty gene that prevents the body from breaking down fats and cholesterol inside cells. This can cause damage to the brain, liver, kidneys, and other organs.
LogicBio (under the trial name Sunrise MMA) needed an impactful website experience to alert parents of a new MMA clinical trial in locations throughout the country. The web design needed to make a quick impression and encourage parents to enroll their child based on specific criteria.
A successful biotech clinical trial usually hinges on successfully helping web visitors quickly understand whether they are eligible to participate in the study. This was the case for LogicBio's Sunrise MMA clinical trial. Boston Web Partners designed custom graphics to convey the criteria for eligibility.
According to Globaldata, a leading data and analytics company, 49% of clinical trial enrollment has been slowed due to COVID-19. In addition to the overall website design, messaging and unique graphics, it was paramount for web visitors to have a quick way to view where the trial sites were located. To enhance the list of trial sites throughout the country, Boston Web Partners designed a quick reference map to compliment the criteria icon designs for continuity.
- The team at Boston Web Partners interviewed the client stakeholders to better understand the recruitment objectives of the clinical trial, website tone, design look and feel and what digital assets needed to be created

- Developed the new site on a maintenance free, fast page-loading content management system (CMS) hosted on AWS

- Set-up Analytics, Search Console and submitted the site to Google for crawling
